Essence,Jazz Transit & Musical cancelled for Today; Schedule adjustments-PLEASE NOTE!

Good morning MCHS Choir families,

Due to the weather and the cancellation of school, all after-school activities, meetings, practices, and athletic contests are cancelled for today, Wed. 1/24.

CHOIR PLACEMENTS
Parents and students, due to school cancellation today and my being gone at the ILMEA conference starting Thursday morning and being off school today, I was supposed to share curricular choir results with the B-DAY choir members today.  I still had one small section of Mixed Choir girls to audition at the start of 3B today (due to some absences) and then in the middle of 3B during our lunch hour, would be able to finalize roster placements for the 2018-19 school year.   I was to share those results one-on-one with students today but unfortunately, I will have to share those on Monday once I have listened to those girls sing.
Students would be able to schedule for which choir for 2018-19 on Monday 1/29.  If you really need to know what I have decided so far, feel free to e-mail me and I can give you a pretty good idea of which choir you would be selected for.  If you can wait until Monday, I can share with your students then. Thank you for your flexibility!  A-DAY W. Chorale students were already told on Tuesday in class.

Choir Booster/Musical meal Meeting and Re-try on Sign-Up Links

Good afternoon MCHS choir families,
Just a reminder that we will be having our monthly Choir Booster meeting tomorrow night, Tues. Jan. 23rd at 7pm in the Central Campus Career Center.  If you are a Spring musical parent, there is a meeting for those interested in supporting our "musical meals" at 6pm right before the Booster meeting in the Career Center, to learn about the planning and signing up to serve meals to the musical kids.
We were also made aware that one of the links I sent out this weekend was not working, so below are new links that are live on Signup Genius for volunteer opportunities. The first is for volunteers to help plan and create CandyLand Adventures for the craft fair Feb. 24th. The second is for the mid-winter concert bake sale, which will be held Thurs. Feb. 15th.  Thank you for signing up to help!
Thanks so much!   Se you at the meeting!
Mr. Benware

Madrigal Dinner servers for TONIGHT!

Good afternoon Choir parents,

We are in a bit of a bind as I have had 9 students or parents in the past 24 hours inform me that they are unable to come serve tonight from Concert Choir and Treble Choirs.  Those groups are supposed to sing their own song selection tonight as well but our biggest need is to have enough servers for our 180 people coming to the dinner tonight.
If your student or an older sibling is free tonight (a Sunday server) and can come help us this evening and can be there between 4:30-5:00pm, we would really appreciate it and they will get extra money in their student account for helping at the second dinner.
If your student or son or daughter can be there, please e-mail me ASAP so I can give their name to the Parent Server heads so they can be assigned a table.
Thank you so much!
Randy Benware

Treats and Video-Madrigal Dinner

Good evening Choir Parents,

Some last minutes Madrigal Dinner needs….
TREATS FOR STUDENTS

The student workers on Saturday and Sunday are provided food for the madrigal dinner on Saturday and Sunday.  The boosters have kindly offered to provide beverages and chips. We are in need of parents to provide dessert type items (cookies, brownies, granola bars, etc…). If you are willing to provide something please bring it this evening (Friday) during setup or Saturday by 6:00, or Sunday by 12:30. Thank you very much for your support of this event.
MADRIGAL VIDEO
I just found out that our Video editing group is now not able to come video the Madrigal Dinner, so I am in need of anyone who could bring a video camera to video the dinner Sat. night 6;30pm or Sunday during the day at 1pm.  If it could just be started and left to run on a tripod, that would even suffice.  Thank you for letting me know if you are able to assist in this way!
Students dinner call time:4:30pm Sat./11:30am Sun.
Thank you to all the parents and students who came and set-up our "castle" for the madrigal Dinner in record time.  It was many and helpful hands, and it looks terrific! We hope you have reservations and are able to join us this weekend.
See you at the castle!!  Drink hail!!
Randy Benware
